Why it matters: iPads cache the last actor profile so VAR works offline. If the server's been updated but this iPad still shows old data, use Re-fetch from server. If a different device shows different notes than this one, the two devices may be talking to different backends — check the Backend pill in the Director Console.
Hard reset clears every var.* localStorage key and the service-worker cache, then reloads. Server-side data is untouched. Useful when an iPad gets stuck on a stale version.

iPad Number (set once per iPad, matches your mic / track number)

iPads: set this once to mark which iPad you're on (matches your mic / Pro Tools track number). Convention: iPad 1 = Mic 1 = Track 1. The director console shows it next to each actor's name. Cleared when you log out a real iPad in the studio.

Mac / control device: leave blank. VAR detects this isn't an iPad and treats it as the director's control surface.
